Magic and mastery of the five rings are the domain of the Phoenix. Adept is these arts they seek to use they're talents to bring peace to the Empire. Many sacrifices have been made by this clan, first the taint of research of the Black Scrolls, then the Isanity of Isawa Tsuke that destroyed the Elemental Masters, this clan is ever in the process of rebirth.

Kiso: Ishio cannot lead a unit but must be placed in a unit (combat or shugenja unit) with another shugenja of higher Glory
Kiso: At the time of placement choose another shugenja in Ishio's unit. That shugenja gains all spells attached to Ishio (this can cause the shugenja to excede his spell limit).
SA: Ishio can become spent and target a shugenja in his unit to raise that shugenja's skills by Ishio's skills for as long as Ishio remains spent. Ishio may choose to remain spent.
SA: Once per battle Ishio can become spent to return a spent shugenja in his unit to ready status.
